Disability waiting list leaves many Kansans without care

Since Dec. 1, 2008, 57 Kansans with disabilities have died while on waiting lists for Kansas Centers for Independent Living services. Hays’ local agency, Living Independently in Northwest Kansas, has lost five individuals, according to the latest figures released by Executive Director Brian Atwell.
