Incentives needed to retain disabled workers to slow Social Security costs, report says
The government should create incentives for employers to retain disabled workers on their payrolls as a way of slowing unsustainable increases in the number of people receiving Social Security disability benefits, according to a new report.

Kathleen Nosek, the Sheffield special-ed teach whose grievance I've been writing about, was suspended with pay this afternoon as a direct result of my visit to her classroom on Tuesday. I filed the story tonight and you can read it in today's paper.

The typical prospective employee will be, in most cases, fully qualified and ready to go to work for that employee who has just rewarded him or her with a job offer. The employer making that job offer should also be aware that he has available to him a host of totally free job accommodation and employer supports on a job-oriented and customized basis.
