Freedom Waters sets course for fun at Bayfront Marina

“I’m ready to go!” announced 6-year-old Parker Seward, one of the children who enjoyed a special holiday cruise on Sunday. Thanks to the Freedom Waters Foundation and Freedom Boat Club, he and about a dozen other excited children enjoyed pizza, drawing and a cruise at Bayfront Marina.

Disability Language Style Guide

The NCDJ publishes a disability style guide in English and Spanish for journalists and professionals who report or write about disabilities.

Training sessions available

The NCDJ conducts training for journalists and other professionals who want to improve their coverage of disability. Sessions can be tailored to meet different needs, but basic training addresses issues related to language choices, framing of disability stories, selection of visuals, and interviewing people with disabilities.

Sessions can be conducted virtually or in person. Fees vary.
